Cancer: Lung Message Board

Cancer: Lung Board Index

Re: I'm scared
May 16, 2007
Slow down, first of all. On the lung & respiratory boards are lots of people with nodules, that turn out to be some other cause other than cancer. I had a 5 mm nodule on my lung that turned out to be cancer, which I found out 10 months after my first ct scan saw the nodule.
You have to keep a watch on them and get them checked out. That's important. And if you can quit smoking, do it now. I didn't quit smoking when they first found it (you know....stress and all that worry) but as soon as they told me I had lung cancer, I could never inhale that smoke again. It wasn't as hard to quit as I thought. (Guess that's because having cancer is a whole lot harder.)
So whatever the doctor recommends, get it done. If you aren't comfortable with what he has to say, get a second opinion. But get the nodule checked out. That is very important.
Good Luck, and hope the nodule is nothing at all to worry about.
