Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD Board Index

Hi I and 69yo lady and I was waiting for a new knee, and the hospital got me to have heaps of tests to check that I was healthy enough for the anesethic.
One test was a chest X-ray. The results got sent to my local doctor and they showed a nodule in my right lung, and he sent me for a cat scan. The cat scan showed
1. In the lateral segment of the right middle lobe, there is a stellate lesion measuring 1.2 x 1.8 x 2.5cm. The lesion abuts the anterior pleura.
2. In the superior segment of the right lower lobe, a further round nodule measuring 8mm is noted, once again abutting the pleura. Atelectatic change in the medial segment of the right middle lobe. Pleural plague at the right apex.
3. The liver appears enlarged. 1.7cm low density ill defined lesion in the left lobe of the liver.
My local doctor is now sending me for an ultrasound. My doctor said I need a biopsy for my lung nodules, but, rather than have 2 separate biopsies, have the ultrasound of the liver then if needed have the biopsies together. Has anyone had any of these??? I am terrified, frightened and so scared. Please help
