Are you sure of these measurements (cm not mm?) That would make a huge difference. Also the location is important, whether these are actual nodules in the lungs vs hilar nodes, which can be from benign conditions. CT scan should be helpful, and I would wait to see what that shows. It is always anxiety producing, but try not to jump to any conclusions until appropriate testing has been completed and you have the whole picture and interpretation.
I know Friday must seem like an eternity away. We will keep you in our thoughts and hope for something benign to be the outcome. Let us know what you find out if you care to share the results.
Well, that is great news! 8 mm and 10 mm are like less than 1/2 inch, and could very well be benign, or borderline hilar nodes, such as seen in sarcoidosis and other benign conditions. 10 mm= 1 cm, the borderline between normal and enlarged nodes, if these are nodes. If they are not, then they are still very small and smaller is always better and easier to treat. In contrast 10 cm is the size of a newborns head at birth, a grapefruit size growth-so quite a difference! Thankfully, it is mm, not cm, so much more favorable in terms of possible diagnosis and prognosis. Glad you got that clarified!
