Hello everyone,

I'm a 45 year old female and I've had various "little" health issues for a long time. On their own, they're not too serious. But when you add them all up, it makes life kind of miserable.

I'm starting to suspect lupus because of SOME of my symptoms. But, on the other hand, I don't have many symptoms that seem to be common in lupus (mouth ulcers, for example). Am I correct in assuming, if I had lupus, I'd have the more common symptoms like ulcers?

Anyway, here's a list of my diagnosis' and symptoms. Please tell me if you think it's possibly lupus.

late teens: started getting headaches

mid-20's: developed cystic acne. took lots of different meds. finally took accutane and got it under control (hm...).

age 28: headaches pretty much constant. developed a sore throat with swollen lymph nodes that felt like strep. For 2 years, I saw ENT's and allergy doctors and took multiple courses of antibiotics. I saw an immunologist who scared me when she told me "if you have a sore throat that's not responding to antibiotics, you're immunocompromised". Two mono tests negative, two HIV tests negative. The swelling in my lymph nodes finally went away slowly after 3 years. My throat remained, dry, reddened and inflamed (and still is, to this day).

age 28-ish: developed rosacea (still have it).

age 33: diagnosed with a "mild" case of chiari malformation and high intracranial pressure (which explains the headaches).

age 35: diagnosed with Hashimoto's (hormone levels normal on tests but antibodies high).

Since age 35: Tested for diabetes three times - negative. I've had various symptoms that seem to be hormone related. Bruises on my legs that won't go away (one has been there for more than 2 years). Carpal tunnel...excessive shedding of hair (I lose tons of it in the morning when brushing out)...dry, irritated eyes, frequent urination and urgency (almost don't make it sometimes!). In the last 6 months, I've started to have kidney pain (all tests and images normal). I believe I have narrowed down the trigger to being progesterone or adderall (yes, I started taking it because I'm exhausted!). And in the last month, I've noticed a very tiny "popping" noise in my shoulders when I move a certain way (usually when driving). And I've always felt fatigued...for as long as I can remember. But it's definitely been bad since my late 20's.

Like I said, a lot of "little" things that are becoming harder and harder to deal with. I'm starting to worry about organ damage (if this is lupus). I feel somewhat comforted by the fact that all of my bloodwork (CBC and kidneys) recently has been normal. And I'm looking into getting a long term disability policy right now so I'm holding off on going to the doctor just yet...something tells me a diagnosis of lupus would not help!

So please chime in. Would like any advice. Thank you!
Amanda
