Hello all,
I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and am being watched for Lupus due to a high ANA.

ANA in 8/03:
Positive
Titer 1:320 - Homogenous
Titer 1:640 - Speckled

ANA in 11/03:
Positive
Titer 1:80 - Homogenous

Now, the rheumy says I don't have Lupus because the second reading isn't really "positive" (although it says that on the lab report) and he has dismissed my symptoms as related to thyroid. Brian fog, memory problems, weight gain, fatigue, fatigue, fatigue. Okay...they did fit that too so I didn't worry too much. He also dismissed the first lab because it was done by an outside lab. He told me it wouldn't fluctuate that much.

However, now for the past week and a half I am in pain. I cry or feel like crying often. My muscles, joints, and skin HURT. I am terribly fatigued, short tempered, and weak. I suffered pleurisy for 3 days. I have headaches and I'm not resting well. Others around me see a difference in my attitude and assume I must be mad or upset at them. I am NOT!

I don't want to go back to this rhuemy and I have an appt on 3/18 to see another dr. In the meantime I'm in contact with my GP, but he doesn't know much about auto-immune/endocrine disorders.

My question is, does this sound like Lupus? If so, how long will the pain last? Should I push my GP to help me now? If I know the end is near for this pain I think I can just suffer though it. However, I don't think I can wait 3 weeks...the pain is really defeating me.

Any help/support you could offer would be wonderful. My DH is at his wits end also...dealing with his own fear and frustration.
Thanks!
