Happy new year to everyone! I hope it's a healthy one for you all!

A quick question...

Over the past couple of weeks, I have had pretty severe lower back pain. I attributed it to PMS at first, but now my period is over and my back is still killing me. The pain is in the small of my back and radiates toward my hips. Then, on New Year's Day, I woke up with severe pain in my right foot, my left leg was swollen (mostly the knee), and my left elbow was in agony. I understand that lupus can make all of these areas hurt, but it all seems to come on at once then go away then come back again. It seems so random!

I guess the back pain worries me because I have tested positive (1+) for protein in my urine. Can the pain be associated with my kidneys? Or can the pain be associated with something gynecological? I suffer from bad yeast infections (lupus related?!?) and my period has been kind of odd for the past few months. They are lighter than usual and the cramping was more severe this month. And today I feel very bloated...

Arrgghhhh  It's all so frustrating! I just want this illness to go away!

I have an appointment with a midwife tomorrow. She comes highly reccommended and I'm just so tired of MDs telling me that I'm not feeling what I'm feeling. I wind up leaving their offices feeling like a complete nut case! My last OB/GYN attributed things to stress and was never aggressive enough with anything...

Okay. I've vented and I do appreciate the ear (s)...

Any input you guys could offer would be appreciated! :)
