I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) in 2001. The last year it has really started effecting my general health. I have felt really bad for about a year and over the 4th of July my family took a week long vacation to Florida. (I work for the Government and have a high stress job) I was almost pain free that entire week. (i could not believe it!!) Anyway, I came back home the next week and went to my doctor who did a new ana test. For the first time in 4 years I had a "negative" ana count.

I've become frustrated w/this internist and am finally going to a rheumatologist in August. (I know, I should have been going to a rhumi all along!!! )

Does anyone have any experience with a normal ana count after having 1:640 count 6 months ago??? The test this time was "ANA w/Reflex Antinuclear Antibodies Direct" and the result was 32. I've had scleritis in my eyes, extreme back and hip pain, butterfly rash, so he's pretty confident in the diagnoxix. The blood test has thrown me for a loop however!!!

Thanks

jacki lu
