Have you been diagnosed as having dysautomia?
No, my doctor is justifiably leaving the naming of my problem up in the air, however, he does recognize it as an autonomic nervous system problem. I have so many ailments that the cause or added complications such a MVP, fibromyalgia, and/ or menopause are not certain. Whatever the name or the cause, I have nearly all if not all of the symptoms, and fibromyalgia is thought to be a problem with the autonomic nervous system. That doesn't get me any closer to a treatment. I am definitely getting better, and hopefully addressing each of the symptoms will get me closer to better health.

Do you have Lupus as well? I am curious because you are posting on the Lupus message board. When you have time, I would be interested to know your medical history if you care to share it.

Saw a psychiatrist yesterday for the anxiety, et al. She prescribed Zoloft. I am currently researching the wonderful side effects that I have to look forward to. I already have many of them. Hoping this doesn't make my insomnia worse. I actually slept better last night than in a long time. I wish I had been able to get to bed earlier and slept longer.

My blood pressure soared when I was trying to fill out all the paperwork. I finally had to give it to my husband who finished it for me. They have a stress reduction workshop starting in May thru July. I live an hour's drive away, so I hope that I can get someone to drive me there for the weekly sessions. It would be great if it were closer or I improved enough to drive there myself! They mentioned the possibility of an evening workshop, and if they have one, my husband could drive me.

This shrink kept asking me about when I was 10 years old, the first time I developed symptoms of Lupus. She was trying to link some sort of childhood trauma to my tendency to internalize problems and relating it to why I have so many autoimmune diseases like Lupus, fibromyalgia, IBS, GERD, etc. I reminded her that I also have a cousin who has lupus and fibromyalgia. She may have something there about internalizing and being a perfectionist, but there is a definite genetic tendency and unfortunately I am the victim of lousy genes.
On one side, my grandmother lived to be nearly 101 years old, and on the other side of my family, they all had something catastrophic. Just glad that I have boys and not girls. Hopefully, there will at least be less of a chance of them developing Lupus. My eldest son has been having stomach/ intestinal problems and seems to be lactose intolerant like me.

Hoping and praying for a better day,
Nan
