Alicake, I hear you. Weekends are the pits when you get symptoms that are new and scary. I have had similar problems with shortness of breath, chest pressure, etc. Mine turned out to be asthma and it was bad enough it was causing low oxygen levels. Some asthma is brought on by exertion. I don't know your age and of course angina is always a concern in people with lupus. One idea is to get a pulse oximeter at your local store, the little finger monitor that measures oxygen levels. You can check yours whenever you feel dizzy or short of breath. A cough could indicate some bronchospasm or fluid in lungs if kidneys get affected. I would try to contact your Dr tomorrow to check in. It took me forever to figure my situation out because my pulmonary function tests didn't show asthma, but inhalers have worked to keep the symptoms controlled. Oxygen levels by fingertip monitoring should be >or = 94. Under 88 is concerning, as oxygen is usually administered then. The monitors are easily found and affordable at most drugstores. Lupus can cause inflammation in lungs as well, known as pneumonitis, so a chest xray may be needed to rule that out. I hope you get some answers soon!
