I am having a breast biopsy in three days and I'm wondering if having lupus could be increasing my risk of cancer. What I'm reading online is that lupus could increase the possibility of lymphomas, but I'm not sure about other cancers. The reason I'm having the biopsy is because I've had random bilateral pain and tenderness for almost a year. I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound in February 2014 that was inconclusive. Last week I had an ultrasound of the right breast and a nodule was found. Now I'm getting worried about the possibility of something called inflammatory breast cancer, especially because of the lupus and the fact that I have a lot of itching in both breasts. My husband thinks the itching could be from the plaquenil, but for the most part, I seem to have that itching under control from taking quercetin and bromelain. I do not have any redness or warmth of the breasts. Anyone have any thoughts?
