... Hi & welcome. I'm sorry to be so slow (unexpected stuff in my house). Anyway, you said this rheum is 100 miles away, which is a pain, but there are reasons why it may make sense to go. Rheums typically use specialty labs known to be good at the autoimmune tests. Rheums are better at ordering the "right" tests in one fell swoop. They're better at interpreting results & putting... ... My ANA was + and the kind that usually = SLE. If I remember right, it was called homogenous or speckled. All I know is that my doc said it was usually seen in lupus. Not only did I get the "butterfly rash", but I'm VERY sensitive to the sun. I can stay out 1 hour & get as burnt as someone who has been in the sun all day. Heck, sometimes, I'm redder than people out all day.... (5 replies)

... I've been dx but sometimes wonder if it was a false dx. I did have TONS of the symtoms. My "butterfly rash" wasn't not rashy looking but realy red at times like I was wearing blush. I know a lot of the other symptoms I'm dealing with is common w/ SLE & other diseases, but SLE is the only one, that I know of, that has the "butterfly rash". Therefore, that fact makes me think it... (5 replies)
