... Hi, Kaypee, and welcome! If your lab uses the same ranges mine does for anti-ds-DNA, then your results = 32 are in the "equivocal" range. My lab uses the following: < 25 is negative 25 to 34.9 is equivocal 35 to 99.9 is weak positive 100 to 200 is positive > 200 is strong positive I've read that it's possible to have slightly elevated ANA & anti-ds-DNA yet NOT have... ... VeeJ, thank you so much for replying. Let me see if I can answer any of your questions. Yes, I got copies of everything. You would be amazed at how much I have. Literally, it is 8-10" thick, or more! I was gonna give you the ranges, but... ugh... I JUST realized that my OB/Gyn still has everything. She is a new OB/Gyn. ... Hi, just to add that I am in the UK. I have seen a Rheumatologist and she tested me for ANA, double stranded DNA, C3, C4, ENA and ANCA. The tests will get done but you need to see an 'interested' Rheumie. My results in May & August were a weak positive ANA and a just detectable ANCA at a titre of <1/40 and was PR3 and MPO negative (have no idea what this means:dizzy:). ... (12 replies)
... Jen, hi & welcome. I'm just a patient, so please read in that light! My recent labs display the following ranges for anti-dsDNA, in IU/ml. < 25 is negative 25 to 34.9 is equivocal 35 to 99.9 is weak positive 100 to 200 is positive > 200 is strong positive BUT your lab may use different reference ranges than my lab, OR your test may have been a different anti-dsDNA... (18 replies)
... Mari, my anti-ds-DNA is likewise measured in IU/ml, but what gives it additional meaning: my labs include a footnote that parses the range. Here's my lab's footnote for anti-ds-DNA: < 25 = negative 25 - 34.9 = equivocal 35 - 99.9 = weak positive 100 - 200 = positive > 200 = strong positive Based on that, I still suspect that it's possible that a reading of 13 could be... ANA weak positive

... Hi. THIS is EXACTLY where my current rheumie made his NASTY comments, on the "DIDN'T THEY GO FURTHER?" question. I'm only a patient (obviously), but the dr. *may* have meant, (1) weren't more specific bloodwork tests and urinalysis called for; and (2) weren't ALL the ACR criteria for lupus checked? I can't second-guess your doctor... I think you should just ASK if she... (6 replies)
