... Hi Ladybud! Thank you so much for your reply. I will update my post once I know what the DR is going to do. I sure hope he starts me on meds. I'm so tired of feeling like this. I know the meds wont take it all away but I hope it helps a little. At this point, every little bit helps, right :) Hope you have a wonderful day. (3 replies)
... Sillygal, yes, I think it's possible to test borderline for ANA, anti-ds-DNA, and other values. For starters, autoimmunes have to start somewhere; also, even when they've hit full stride, test values can fluctuate as flares come & go. Another factor could be the lab: the tests are difficult to perform. Finally, while some patients present full-blown, others progress slowly.... (6 replies)

... An elevated ANA can point to several different autoimmune conditions, your rhuemy will run more specific tests to determine which condition you have. It could be that by the time you see the rhuemy the dsdna will turn highly positive, and that pretty much is a clincher for Lupus, so although it is hard to wait a month, it may be a good thing, in that it might help you to get... ... hi again just a quick update, immunologist rang wednesday morning and did explain that given my symptoms the blood results and a strong positive dsdna, in her opinion this was all pointing toward lupus, however as i was referred by rheumi she said it was up to the rheumi to diagnose and she had sent her an urgent fax, as i did not have an appointment until January she advised... ... I think a rheum and derm consult would be great. You need those to put all of this together. I would save the biopsy for last if you can't get a diagnosis from the rheum based on symptoms and blood tests. (6 replies)
... Thanks! That helps a lot! I tried to post links to pictures a couple times but I was apparently doing something wrong so I gave up. I did show the rashes to my doctor at my last appointment but she didn't seem to know what they could be. I am starting to think I should try going to a rheumatologist at this point or maybe a dermatologist even. I think I'll see what my next... (6 replies)
... Thank you so much for your reply! Currently I am seeing an Internal Medicine doctor. Do you think it would be worth it to find a rheumatologist? I am not sure but I would say I am probably photosensitive. The pictures I find online of Lupus and photosensitive rashes always look a lot more severe than anything I've had so I don't know what to think about them. It pretty... (6 replies)

... Hi & welcome. I'm sorry for your problems. I'm wondering if you could be in somewhat of a gray area. Have you read the "sticky posts" (permanent info posts) located above the user threads? I'm about to cite them... Here goes: While you may have met several of the ACR criteria, you may not have met enough to be a clear-cut case of "classic" systemic lupus. Generally, but not...
