... I found what the different ANA patterns meant and here's what it said about yours. The Homogenous pattern is very specific to lupus and requires dsDNA, ssDNA and anti-Smith for further evaluation The rheum you see will repeat the ANA panel and run the additional tests. ... Elegantgi, Anti-ds-DNA is only ONE of the autoantibodies implicated in lupus &/or other autoimmunes. But it's a really good one to rule out, as it (and anti-Sm) are considered "highly specific" for lupus and may be harbingers of serious lupus.
