Need Some Advice
Mar 21, 2016
I really need some advice/guidance. I apologize in advance for the long post. I really don't know where to go from here....

Back in June or July of last year, I woke up with a weird rash on my leg. it spread out in a ring, was itchy and developed what looked like a bruise in the center. I ever saw a tick or anything, and I don't remember getting flu like symptoms, so I just figured it was a spider bite. I do live in an active Lyme area. About that time, I was also allergy tested and started allergy immunotherapy, which has helped with my bronchitis/asthma symptoms tremendously.

In late August of last year, I developed planter faciitis in both feet and sesamoiditis/capsulitis in my right big toe (confirmed by MRI). Two cortisone shots, a course of steroids (which I had to stop because they were messing with my blood sugar),and 6 weeks in a walking cast later, both feet are no better. I have a hard time walking because of the pain.

A couple of months ago, I began having bad pain in my right elbow, which my chiropractor told me was probably tennis elbow. Then I noticed that my shoulders began to ache really bad, to the point where it woke me up at night (I don't sleep well to begin with). I began having a hard time lifting things. Both my knees hurt, and I actually fell down the stairs the other day because my knee went out. I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning because I'm so stiff and achy. It gets a bit better during the day, but if I sit too long, everything gets stiff again, especially my feet. I've also gained quite a bit of weight over the past year. I used to be fairly active, but this has really affected my mobility. I'm tired all the time and can't seem to motivate myself to do anything.

I went to my primary care doctor for my annual physical, and I asked him about the joint pain and the weight gain. He ran all the standard tests, which flagged a couple of things like cholesterol and blood sugar (107). I had originally suspected thyroid (even had a thyroid ultrasound), but that was also normal. He also ordered a Lyme titer, AM cortisol level, sed rate, c reactive protein and tests for RA. All those came back normal, and Lyme was negative. He doesn't think that the original rash I had was a lyme rash. Now he wants to send me to a rhumatologist. When I finally got the lyme results this morning, and they were negative, I just sat there and cried because I know something is wrong.

At this point I am extremely frustrated. So my questions are - is it possible that I have lyme disease? Should I go see the rhumatologist, or should I find a LLMD, and how would I go about finding one?

Thanks for letting me vent...I know that something is not right with my body, I just need to figure out what it is.
