Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

My first tests revealed the following:

Lyme, Western Blot, Serum Lyme AB IGG BY WB:
P41 Present P30 Present all other Absent
Lumbar puncture - (Fluids) Lyme Ab, CSF for B. Burgdorferi Antibody Positive H 1.2

six months later my doctor has just ordered the following tests:

ASO Titer, Haptoglobin, complement C3, Complement C4, Lyme IGG, DNA Antibody, Rheumatoid Fact, ANA EIA, C Reactive Prot and had Lyme Western B sent to a Specialty Lab in Santa Monica, CA

I have been to a Infectious Disease doctor who has been seeing me every 4 weeks at about $245 per 5 minutes. The doctor who ordered these tests is my family doctor who seems to know and (care) about Lyme.

I would just like to know if this doctor is on the right track.

Thank You
Ticked-Off remember that no Lyme test is completely reliable. It is important to use a Lyme reputable lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA.

The Western Blot (IGG & IGM) is a good test. I really cannot comment on the others, because I do not know about them. I believe the rheumatoid is to test for arthritis. I know that people who have Lyme can have a positive ANA result. You should be tested for the co-infections that ticks can transmit--Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma. Again, it is important to use a Lyme reputable lab.
