Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

I wish your son luck. From what I've read and learned your son's titer may not show positive right away if he had been infected, but the longer someone is treated after infections the worse off they can be. I've read a story of someone getting a rash four months later, and also read that almost fifty percent of the cases may not develop a rash. I myself started out with a red spot that turned into a bullseye and the 10-12 days later 3/4 of the way around my leg and from almost groin to ankle had gotten red tight and inflammed. I would ask Ticker to respond on whether there is any recommended precautionary treatment for those with concerns like yours for you son. I'd also advise not to read to many non-medical information until you understand the amount of infections and possibilities of infections in your area. The internet is not the best place for people to read to much when investigating and researching things medically because it will tend to make some paranoid, self-diagnose,and scared about things they're not sure of or afraid of. Luckily for you (like myself we tripped across this board with Ticker and other knowledgable individuals). I had two positve test 5 yrs ago and may have looked up Lyme 2-3 times until my new doctor recently all but dismissed my concerns that I have Lyme related problems. Good luck again.
