Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

Hi DuPrey84, welcome to the board!

Yes, 200 mg of Doxy is too low a dose for Lyme. I believe the recommended dose is 300-600 mg daily. Make sure you read the pharmacy print-out regarding Doxy (avoid sun exposure, no dairy/iron/magnesium within two hours, etc).

Besides Lyme, ticks can transmit several co-infections including Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma. Often, people who have Lyme are co-infected. It is important to be tested for these by a Lyme reputable lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA. Have you been tested for these? Many Lyme doctors believe co-infections need to be treated first for Lyme treatment to be effective.

The most important thing you can do is see a knowledgeable doctor. Where do you live?
