Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

I can understand why you would be so confused, frustrated and desperate. A lot of us have been where you are.

I think that since you have been sick for so long, and the tests results in any way indicate a positive result, and your lyme literate doctor feels you need to get treated, I would get the treatment. If you see no improvement after a certain period of time, you can always stop the treatment as per your doctors instruction, but at least you will have no regrets.

What if the entire time you had Lyme instead or all the other things you were diagnosed with, or at least in addition to, and you had a doctor that was willing to give you help and you didn't take it? I hate regrets, knowing that I could of done something but didn't.

It is a very personal decision, but one that all of us on the board have had to make. I have been battling this for 13 years and the majority of the time have been doctoring myself because I, every time, tested negative for Lyme, and no doctor would help me. I finally found a lyme literate doctor who listened to me and was willing to treat me regardless of the results, and I can tell you that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Something else I want to say is that confusion, depression, disorientation, etc. are symptoms of lymes and may also be hindering your decision making process. I had all of them and when I started on my treatment program, they lifted and I had clarity of mind and wondering why I hadn't been more aggressive to get the help I need all along.

I will pray for you that you make the right decision for you.
