Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

Hi all,

I have started my treatment for Lyme disease almost 3 months ago. The first month, I was primarily on oral Ketek, and I herxed really badly 2 weeks into the treatment. I recovered from the herx 2 weeks later, and for the second month, I was on IV clindamycin for 4 days a week and Flagyl for the other 3 days. After the 2nd month with no noticeable improvement to my condition (mostly dense brain fog and other mental difficulties), my doctor switched me to oral Zithromax and Tinidazole 3 weeks ago.
As of today, I still have not felt any relief of my symptoms. In fact, my brain fog has been worse compared to before my treatment started 3 months ago. I have been on high doses of Pale Spike for the past 3 weeks now (I'm half way through my 3rd bottle now), but it also has not brought any relief to my brain symptoms.

I'm really getting worried now... am I going to be one of the unfortunate ones who are stuck with this condition for the rest of my life? My doctor was surprised to hear from me that I felt no improvement at all. In fact, like I mentioned, I definitely feel worse than without antibiotics.

I'm also on other natural remedies since 2 months ago, along with my antibiotics. They include Cat's Claw, Andrographis, Resveratrol, and Sarsaparilla. I found these herbs from the book "Healing Lyme: Natural Healing And Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis And Its Coinfections" by Stephen Harrod Buhner. I was hoping to combine this protocol with the antibiotics to give the Bb bacteria a hard time. But it seems like I'm the one getting it instead.

What do you think I should do?? I feel helpless again... First I spent 2 hard years to find the cause of my ailment, but now even with a proper diagnosis, it seems as if I'm sentenced to this suffering without an end in sight anyway.

I've ordered a number of other Dr. J's products which should now be in the mail. They include Borrelogen, Microbojen, and the Neuro-Antitiox CNS/PNS. I feel as if I'm running out of things to try, and it's really getting quite expensive. I'm putting a lot of hope on Dr. J's products, since a number of you have had good results from them. His theories and techniques on the treatment for Lyme are quite different and foreign to me, but I suppose I don't need to understand everything for something to work.

Sorry for this long post. I'm just feeling a bit lost now and it surely doesn't look like I'll be in a good enough shape to enjoy my wedding in 2 month's time. I was hoping that at least I would find a tiny bit of relief when I started my treatment 3 months ago, but I suppose even that was a bit too much to ask for. :(

Take care everyone.

Jacky
