Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

Hi Michelle,

Your story sounds alot like others. We have all been through it. Still going through it. If you suspect Lyme I would request paperwork through Igenex. You can even call them and ask what tests they recommend you have. That is what I did. After you get the info from them you need to have a script from your doctor to have the test ordered. Sadly, Igenex does not take insurance. This testing is pretty expensive. I was tested for Lyme and some co-infections and it was somewhere around 600.00 dollars. It may sound like alot of money but it is worth it.

Remember though that not all test come back positive. Just becuase your test is negative doesn't mean you don't have Lyme. A LLMD will explain that to you. Did your rheumie run a Sed rata, ANA and other specific tests for autoimmune diseases? You can always have them run in the mean time just to rule other things out.

I had my first appt. with an LLMD this week. His name is Dr. Cameron and he is Mt. Kisco, NY. This is not far from New York City. Actually, there is a train station about a block from his office.

Hope this has helped and good luck to you. Stick around..the other members of this board are so helpful and knowledgable.

Take care...deb
