Hi deccajay and welcome.

Sorry to hear you feel crappy. It stinks that you were doing well for a while there and thought you beat this monster.

I can relate to feeling crappy. :)

What antibiotics were you on? Was your doctor an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)?

I know exactly how you feel with regards to not having the energy to go back on a pill regime and start diet restrictions.

About 6 months ago I was taking all sorts of pills, and I think the daily total was 48. There were bottles all over the place (and my house is wreck after my being sick for so long).

My memory was so bad that I kept a chart so I would remember which ones to take. Even with that I still forgot to take some of them once in a while.

I also was too sick to get off the couch and go to the fridge to get my probiotics. And if I ran out of a certain pill, sometimes I was too sick to go buy more so I just sat here and cried and skipped that pill for a while.

I don't think it's a matter of will power. When I try to quit smoking and I fail - that's a lack of will power.

But being too sick to spend the effort to take 30 pills a day and watch every morsel of food that goes into your body - that's just being sick and not having the energy.

Don't be hard on yourself. It takes a mountain of mental energy to focus on keeping to a regimental diet and taking all those pills. And mental energy is something that we Lymies don't have a lot of.

Maybe the diet was too strict? Maybe, if you go back to that doctor and get back on medicine, you can take it one step at a time.

I tried going to organic foods and I just couldn't do it 100%. I do have some organic foods that I eat, but I just can't drive all the way to the organic market and then come home and prepare all that stuff.

I love to cook - but I have such fatigue and pain that I simply can't stand in the kitchen that long.

I tried doing a sugar/carb free diet and I only lasted 30 days! It didn't make me feel better at all.

Try to be doom & gloom. If you have to go back on medicine and change your diet a bit - it's not the end of the world. If you can't stick to a regimental diet - forgive yourself and do the best you can.

Let us know how you are doing, Ok?

Peace and health to you.
