Hi mome22. It is a good idea to get a copy of test results.

Band 41 is often the first to show. The IgM tests for a more recent infection, the IgG a longer standing one. The CDC requires a large number of bands to show for it to be considered positive, yet many people who have Lyme do not have this many bands show. Lyme doctors often focus on which bands show, some are specific for Lyme.

Which lab did the test? It is important to be tested by a Lyme lab such as IgeneX. They use more sensitive testing and list more bands.

Your daughter should be evaluated by a Lyme doctor.

Ticker, Melissa's daughter has been tested by Igenex and is seeing Dr. Cichon in Tampa, he said that she does have LD, but the primary will not agree to the IV treatment. And the ID doc says she does not have LD. That's where the confusion comes in. sarah
