Thanks for all the information. My son's first Lymes test on July 9 came back negative and the pediatrician said he just had a virus. By July 20th he was waking up with pains in his legs and by July 25th could not bend over to touch his toes. I took him back to his pediatrician and was told he probably had Mono but since we were drawing blood again she threw in another Lymes test. It came back positive with 5 bands (whatever that means?). July 30th he had mentioned a stiff neck and that's when we went to the ER. He is on ceftroxione(sp?) and we go to the Infectious Disease - Dr Eppes on the 16th. How is it determined you no longer have it?? Do you always carry the Lymes?
