Wow the doxy gave you a stroke! I was on a very high dose of doxy and flagyl, zithromax and diflucan. My new Dr said it was very dangerous what he was doing to me. And making me suffer through the herxing.
It has been hard because I don't have much support. We've lived in Houston for 2 years and it took us a long time to settle on a church. We love the church but because of me being sick have not connected like we did living in Richmond, VA for 6 years. We have so many friends back there. Our family is where my LLMD is in La. five hours away. My youngest daughter is sick right now with strep and usually the next day my kids have gotten better from strep but her fever won't go down. And in the back of my mind I can't help but wonder if it's because her immune system is down due to the lyme.
And I also see how hard it is going to be to take care of them and myself when my treatment kicks in and there's starts. I'm o.k. so far but didn't get a good nights rest because she was up with fever. My older daughter gets jealous so she's complaining more of symptoms. I am realizing the challenge ahead of me.
I need to go to the store and my husband won't be home until 800p.m. I asked my neighbor if she would go to the store for me and she is supposedly my best friend. Her response was, I already went to the store today. She tells me all the time I'll do anything for you whatever you need but when it comes down to it, she doesn't come through. The store is five minutes away. I will have to leave my 11 year old in charge of my 8 year old with fever and go. I never ask anything from her, the neighbor friend. I'll stop complaining now.
Hi Jeanine36
Don' t worry about what you think is complaining You are just gtetting out your frustration to a neutral party as far as I am concerned . I don't look at it as complaining
I don't understand sometimes how some people don't think of others in a time of need when just a simple thing like going to the store five minutes a way wouldn't be a real challenge for someone in good health I just sometimes don't get it
I don't think I had the stroke from the doxy but maybe instead from having the lyme for quite a long time Almost two years at that point The tick I finally found and recognized was under my arm for three weeks and you certainly have some major lymph nodes there so I think it went for a very long party after that . I thought at first it was one of those tiny skin tags at first until my arm was hurting so bad at work I went outside and saw in the light with my glasses on it was a tick and removed it Thought I would save put it in a tissue and lost it so when I told my Gp about it and asked for meds I didn't have a rash so he said don't worry about it That was in may of 04 and another one of my brothers had died 3 weeks before so I was dealing with thatgrief so I did not pursue it until a month later when I had felt like I had the flu and sweating profusely still no response Then in august I went back again to let him know I was extremely tired and my legs burned really bad
Still told me don't worry about it Then in january of 06 I developed a sore throat and thrush in my throat and cysts in my cheeks and on the right and left side of my tonsils litlle pockets of pus they removed He sent me to an ears nose and throat doc and she at that time put me on the rinse for thrush and said she thought it was an autoimmune problem that is where I had the cysts removed
In his defense he did call me in a week and ask how I was doing still had the thrush and renewed my medicine
This problem would clear up then return over the next

By august I had kept going in every six weeks or so with some sort of problem Then in sept I was so weak when I went tostand up in the tub I fell and broke my rib My husband heard me fall and helped me out of the tub
It was late so I just went to bed knowinng I probably broke my rib until I woke up a couple of hours later and drove myself to the ER
They xrayed it there said the had read the film and it was just bruised and gave me a couple of pain pills to take and sent me home About 3 hours later at 8 in the morning they called to say the xray tech had come in took a look and it was definately broken
So I took a few days off of work and tried to just rest but wound up with pnemonia called the doctors office and on call filling in for mine happened to be a lyme lliterate doctor told him about what I had been through and he did my intial testing
So all toll I was definately infected almost 14 months before treatment and then put on doxy I know it went neurological after 2 months on the doxy and when I took the IV Rocephin it started to clear alot of the neuro stuff even though some still lingers
Check out under our skin a documentary on lyme coming to times square in the end of march
They have a short clip you can view on streaming video but keep in mind to not let it get you depressed It is very moving but may bring some light to this ignored disease
I am now off the levaquin so maybe I will start improving again
Oh by the way my husband is from pascagoula mississippi and we own some land near lucedale about 30 miles from the coast It was suppose to be our retirement place but most likely will have to sold to keep up with my medical expenses instead but I really do love the area of Louisiana
and the gulf coast
My sister has a nice place at gulf shores Ala outside of Mobile I used to love to go a couple of times a year but can't make it anywhere for more than a few days because of the home nursing services coming to my house
Take care and keep in touch
