Why doesn't insurance pay for treatment or for the Igenex test? How much has everyone spent so far?

I tested posititve with IGM WB P41 and P23, but I have had symptons for years. The test was not done at Igenex. Has anyone tested false-positive? I just got test done at igenex so I am still waiting the results.

Also, why does the CDC want my Dr to register me? It makes no sense that the CDC wants me registered but insurance doesn't pay for this??? I am so confused with this mess!

One more question. I was pregnant with Lyme and am araid my two year old may have it now. Has anyone else got there toddler tested? I so scared we are going to go broke from this especially if my little one has it too!!!

I have BCBS and they are paying for my treatment now which is really helping. However, I did not have insurance when I first started treatment and it was rough with the antibiotics and labs. My LLMD though is not covered by insurance so I pay his $ 135.00 monthly fee out of pocket. The meds were costing me a couple hundred a month and when I went on zithromax and found out it was like $ 17.00 a pill it hurt but I did a search on the internet and found that if your dr field out a form from the maker (cannot think of the other word for it) they sent it to him monthly for free and I would pick it up so that helped a lot until my insurance kicked in. I am now on picc and meds. I heard the picc can cost around $ 4000.00 a month but I only have a co-pay of $16.00 a day for it plus $ 20.00 a week for the nurse. Still have not received the first bill yet which is scaring me because I am on my 7th week.

My test was not from Igenex and I tested positive three times. But the last two times I had more bands than the first. My husband had the igenex test done and was positive for the 41.

I was the first ever case in that county so made me feel a little strange to be registered.

I am sure others will answer this question. I know there have been some posts about it and I think someones child tested positive also. I have had all my kids tested (my diabetic daughter with rheumatory arthritis has been tested three time and all three negative so I have been lucky). I went to the extremem on some things but after I had it and my dog was also diagnosed with it, I wanted to be safe.

This board is very helpful and I have learned that it is a part of my life. I would not be where I am health wise now without it. Good luck and always ask any questions you may have. There is always someone else going thru the same thing.
