Lyme Disease Message Board

Lyme Disease Board Index

Hi Rdm3000. I recommend making an appointment to see a Lyme doctor. Depending on how long it takes for you to get it, you may or may not want to get tested beforehand. When you call, you could ask if you should have the testing done first. If you get tested at IgeneX, it typically takes about three weeks to get the results back.

The majority of Lyme doctors and Lyme testing labs no longer take insurance because insurance companies often do not reimburse them. People usually pay up front and submit the bills to their company for reimbursement. Some pay more than others. You may want to see what percentage your company will pay ahead of time.

The Lyme doctors I know of in CA who come highly recommended are Dr. Raphael Stricker in San Francisco and Dr. Steven Harris who has offices in Malibu and Redwood City.

Good luck!
