Latent lymes?
Jul 19, 2003
Hi, My name is Lisa. I am the mother of a 17 year old girl. Melissa was diagnosed with Lymes disease when she was 14. It all started with her waking up one morning with her jaw out of whack. I took her to the doctor and they sent us to the emergency ward, where they tried to say that i punched her. We then went to to an oral surgeon, and they didn't know either, and then went to her dentist and they didn't know either. Several months went by, and her pediatrician finally took a blood test and found the Lymes. They treated her with 3 weeks of Doxycycline. Several months later, she was exposed to mono and got it. At around the same time she was experiencing what we call "brain freezes". They did not treat the mono with anything. Her glands were quite swollen in her neck, jaw, and arm pits. They have never really gone down to this day. She is now 17 and still has the "brain freezes", along with a host of other problems. She has much trouble in school listening, and comprehending material. She tests poorly. She is always complaining of her back hurting. Sometimes her rib cage hurts, sometimes her neck hurts. I have probably forgotten half of the other symtoms, but I think this is enough for my first posting. Any help out there would be very appreciated. by the way, she sees a chiropractor, an infectious disease specialist, (who ran 25 or so blood tests on her--all negative), she saw a neurosurgeon who did an MRI on her brain--negative again, and now we have an appointment to see a neurologist for what, I don't know...
thanks.

I was curious if you found a dr. for your daughter.
I am currently seeing the dr. in Hermitage. I am new to the health board. I have been suffering from lymes for 3 years. I could use someone to correspond with who has been through the lymes ordeal. [quote]Originally posted by lisag123:
