95% of the population has tested positive for EBV so I wouldn't try to "hang your hat" on that lab result. Further, most Lymies tend to have very high EBV scores.

Where exactly did you received your testing? If not at a Lyme specific Lab, testing (I think) is a waste of time.

I've recently heard of some Lyme Labs that are now thought as good, or superior, to Igenex in Palo Alto California. Central Florida Lab is supposed to be excellent and they test for Borrelia, not just antibodies, so you're likely to get a more accurate result. For co-infections, Fry Lab in Arizona is supposed to be the best.

But as Jodie said, a great many people who definitely have Lyme do not test positive. If it's important to you to have more definitive information, but you also realize that symptoms are more important than tests when it comes to Lyme, then I would suggest the Florida Lab.

All the best,

Jen

Jen, Thanks for your reply... I didn't know that many people tested positive for EBV, and I also didn't know that most Lymies have such high EBV scores.

The lab I had my Western Blot test done was "Quest Diagnostics" in Teterboro NJ. I don't think it's lyme specific, as I've had blood work drawn for other health issues from this same lab.
