Two things I would add about your abdominal pain, assuming you are positive for Lyme. The first is the pain might be from yeast or candida so I hope your LLMD is testing for both and lots of probiotics are part of your regiment. Sugar feeds yeast which is crucial to laying off the stuff. The second pertains to diet and food allergies. Us Lymies often develop intolerances to gluten which may give you some discomfort.

Good luck.

Thanks. I agree, and no, he hasn't tested that stuff. How do I find a LLMD in our area....Mpls/St Paul realistically? We're in a small town about an hour away. I am really feeling like I need someone closer she can get in with who understands managing the Lyme and the fructose intolerance together.
Candida often follows in the wake of long-term abx. If you can't locate an LLMD a good Naturopath could also work well.

Biodefender is a product that has been used successfully by lymies (and others) for candida and other digestive problems. You have to start slow and ramp up dosage accordingly. French Green Clay is another product to consider to heal the digestive tract and Guido's suggestion of Probiotics is a must!

She is taking Florastor and ProbioMaxDF...pretty heavy doses. Does a big dose of the florastuff ever cause bloating?

Too many Probiotics can also cause problems (the same with too much yogurt). Kefir is a good way to add additional probiotics without side effects. The products I mentioned would help with detoxing and healing the gut. Biodefender is an antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial formula. Lyme and its co-infections require attention on all fronts.
