Lyme Disease Board Index

[COLOR="Teal"]Hi, uma-anne, sorry your going through all of this. I know it can be very scary.

Yep sounds like lyme. And you had best run from that infectious disease doc. There are MORE negatives on test than positives. You honestly need to get to a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. (LLMD) They know that doxy in small doses and only for a short time can cause more harm than good. The lyme bacteria, (Borrelia) has 3 life cycles to it. There is the newbie, the ones that create a cyst around themselves, and the adult.

There is a thread above how to share LLD names. This is a very political disease and we need to protect those Specialist out there that will treat it.

Most do not take insurance. So we have to pay out of pocket to get better.

Once you find a LLMD, you can also talk to them about your baby.

Lyme docs go solely on clinical evaluation and not on a test. Testing for Lyme and co-infections, such as Babesia, Bartonella, Erichloiosis, and other bacterias are not always accurate. Too many strains that the labs don't test for. And you need to be tested for Epstein Barr, Cytomeglovirus and others that go along with this.

Ticks are not the only way to get these, any insect that bites and goes host to host can transmitt. Some say sex, blood transfusions are other ways to get it.

From where you are sitting you can find a Lyme Support group in your city, county state, contact the contact person and see whom they recommend you see.
Also being tested through Igenix Lab, Palo alto, Ca. Is the leading lab to be tested through. But you still need a doc that specializes in Lyme.

Wishing you luck in getting to a doc and the right protocol.
