... Is your girlfriend seeing a Rheumatologist for the Fibro? What do they suggest? Fibro is a recognized disease; however it is also a "catch all" for sporadic muscle pain...because Lyme also attacks the muscles- it can be even more painful then having lyme alone. Lyme is treated with heavy doses of Doxy (an antibiotic) where as Fibro is not treatable; however, there are... (4 replies)
... I had fibromyalgia since the 1980s, and Lyme disease since 2007. A healthy lifestyle is the only thing that ever helped me. When I first got fibromyalgia the doctors I saw didn't know what it was. They told me the pain was because of old age (I was 30), or else they thought it was psychological. I diagnosed myself many years later, after reading about it. Now days if... (4 replies)
... ligpit I still had the same positive Lyme tests (ELISA and Western Blot) after 10 years. The symptoms were severe in the first year, very slight ever since. I deal with it by having a healthy lifestyle, including yoga and exercise every day. Taking more and more antibiotics will probably cause more harm than good. And medical science really has not answers for this,... (4 replies)

... Anytime you have changes in your vision, you should get your eyes checked out. So many things could be causing this- from a retina issue to glaucoma. Don't assume this is Lyme because there is no way to know that. Lyme attacks your body and can do lasting damage- it never really goes away, it simply lays dormant. Please go see a good ophthalmologist- not an optician... (6 replies)

... Dear ligpit, Indeed one does need a well-practiced Lyme expert to handle the case. Lyme's is just not a straight forward or well known disease. It seems that so many try to treat it without really understanding it. Monitoring needs to never stop, but the disease usually can be managed if your doctor knows what he is doing. From what I have heard few doctors do know what to... (4 replies)
... LD does not follow a natural course. Much depends on how soon you were treated after being infected. Detoxing is vital to management of lyme symptoms. I would strongly suggest you do research on this as there are many things that you can do to offset some of the symptoms you are experiencing. I would also suggest that you stay with lyme specialists (LLMD's). Other's who claim... (4 replies)
... Have you considered seeing either a neurologist or an infectious disease doctor? Both would have extensive knowledge about the IGG bands. Some neurological diseases also present with the same inflammation; and an infectious disease doctor can help you narrow down what it IS or ISN'T. I know you have been through the ringer with doctors; but I really do think ID (infectious... (4 replies)

... HI Everyone, I have been looking through all your post and you all sound really educated on Lymes disease. I am a mother of 2 and Just a couple hrs ago I found a blac legged tic embedded in my 4 yr olds scalp. It was not ingorged, but it did bite her, it was hard to get out. I didn't use tweezers because the head may get stuck that way, I just pulled him out by hand. I kept... (5 replies)
... I can't get anyone to give me answers on this or share similar experiences. I've been taking Plaquenil for almost a month now, and just yesterday I woke up with some red spots on my left buttock. They're all approx just smaller than a dime, with four of them in a diagonal line from the outer buttock toward the inner part, and one at the bottom. I immediately thought I... (3 replies)
