... As I understand it, the criteria for the medical industry is to have 6 or more bands test positive for Lyme in order to have it, and for them to treat you. ... (9 replies)
... 6Blues - Thanks. I tested negative for any co-infection - which is good news at least. I haven't had the symptoms of those - no fevers or anything. So it is only Lyme I am dealing with - which is enough. These good and bad days really stink. I have only been on antibiotics for 3 weeks and I know I am expecting too much. ... srocc, glad to hear you got a definitive test result. Knowledge is power with this disease. Don't forget about those co-infection tests. (7 replies)

... Hi srocc20655. I am glad you got a diagnosis, I know it is a relief to have validation for your symptoms. Were you tested for the co-infections Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma also? This is very important. Lyme disease is the second fastest growing infectious disease in the US after AIDS and the number one vector-borne disease in the US,... (7 replies)

... So the IGG would indicate the Lyme had been in the body awhile. Is this right? If so, then I don't understand my test results because the IGG was negative, the IGM positive. But I was bitten by ticks over 20 years ago and developed symptoms 13 years ago, if you get my drift. Prema (15 replies)

... Here is some more information that I found. The criteria for the CDC is that one have 2 out of 3 of: 21-25, 39 and 41. Further, 41 needs 39 as 41 by itself is not adequate. 39 is highly specific for Bb. It seems that different agencies have different criteria of interpretation. Since my report indicates "positive" for Lymes (both presently active and also having been in... (5 replies)

... I actually made an appointment to see in originally in November. Luckily, I found an I.D. doc who has done a great job and checked me for everything else as well. She has agreed to start treating me with Doxy, even though she doesn't feel that I really have Lyme's. She is also on my insurance, which makes a big difference. I was mainly wondering if anyone has tried... (5 replies)
... Hi Earle I think its brilliant you have your + result back. The heart and pressure most be a wieght but it seems things are siding in your favour. Try not to worry to much or in 30 days you might not get the pass. Obviouse statement i know but can you take time out 3 nights a week. Nice lavender bath. (7 replies)

... Jeanne  Hadn't posted about strokes. Mri show lesions that could possible be mini strokes. (or lyme/babesia/mycoplasma) Spec abnormal. Was told by the first neuroligist that my blood was thick. I take a handful of supplements as I'm sure you do to. If there is some stroke damage, I may not reach the same degree of recovery as I would for lyme. You ask about... (7 replies)

... So they have proven that the testing for lyme sucks, this is very true. You may test negitive for years then get a positive or vise versa. Because of this you really cant scratch lyme from that list of things that cause CFIDS. ... (8 replies)
... just curious denise... did you ever have mono?? I got a horrendous case of mono when I was upstate in college. Part of me thinks I had lyme also. Also, I am nervous that the EBV has produced a positive lyme test due to cross-reactivity, but from i hear some of the bands I have are specific to lyme. Thanks! -Nancy (8 replies)
