Please help - very stressed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will try and make this quick, I am a 42 yr old male. I have always been in decent shape although overweight and rarely went to the Dr. It had been 4 yrs since my last check up when I went about 1 yr ago. I had been having some pain in my left teste for awhile off and on and mentioned it to the Doc. She felt around and said it was probably epididymus (sp) and sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed a small hydorcele but nothing serious. She put me on cipro for 30 days for the epididy.

Almost immediately, I started to get a uncomfortable feeling in my left groin that spread up into my left abdomen. The pain in my teste went away. The abdomen pain slowly spread to my side and back right around the left kidney. This went on so I went back to the doc apx 2 months later. She said it was probably muscular and gave me some muscle relaxers. These did little.
Finally after another month, I went back and she sent me dfor an abdominal and pelvis ct scan with contrast. The CT scan came back clean although they could not read the descending colon - but nothing to worry about. She thought it possible I had a hernia and would send me to a surgeon after my vacation. This was July.
The nagging pain continued - left groin, side up to the rib cage and lower kidney area back. I was so relieved by the cat scan being negative that i did not set up an appt for the surgeon until Oct. During this time I had a serious toothache on the left side and felt a large lump in my left underarm. It felt like a grape rolling around. I made an appt with doc for 2 days later and by the time I went in, it had gone down quite a bit. She felt nothing but sent me for an unltrasound where they found a mass. Luckily I had an appt set up with the surgeon for that monday - this was friday and the weekend was VERY stressful. Saw the surgeon who checked me for 30 sec on the hernia and said "you dont have a hernia". He then sent for an MRI. The MRI showed "several" lymph nodes that had "turned or been replaced" by fat. The surgeon did not think it was anything to worry about but he can not be 100% positive unless he checked via surgery. He and my primary both said they looked "so" benign that they both advised against it.

While I awaited these results, I had gone to a spa and recieved a massage. i was very stressed and she felt a knot (which I could plainly feel in my left back near shoulder blade. She could not get it out, I again worried, the next day I got another massage and I could not feel her hit it again. My primary again said that it was just a knot, don't worry, etc. Finally I went back to my primary in dec about the groin and side and she sent me for spine and left hip xrays from the hip up to the neck. I didnt get these done until jan after Christmas and they again came back clean. I asked if these would have picked up a mass in my left side and she said there was nothing there, everything was fine, that the massuese only felt a knot and that she was going to send me for physical therapy. this was early feb. she briefly felt my neck, listened to my back and said I was fine. 2 weeks ago, my entire left armpit, below it on my side, my delt muscle and the outside of my shoulder felt like I had just done an intense workout. (I had possibly strained it but not to this extent) It was sore for 3-4 days and went away. Right now it feels OK although my left neck now feels swollen and stiff both right at the base of the neck and jaw and at the base of the neck. . I cant really notice anything by hand - maybe it feels slightly swollen but mostly stiff. I also feel a bit of a "click" as I swallow when my head is turned to the left and lowered. It is not there when raised or turned to the right. This has been going on fgor several weeks. My side, back and groin continue to hurt but it is not bad and less than last yr.

Just last week, I woke up and felt pain in my armpit and groin although I could not feel anything swollen. My elbow also hurt and when I felt it-I felt a lump on the lower inside of my elbow. It was soft and the skin moves on it but I cant really move it by itself. I made an appointment with my doc for Monday but was so concerned i went to an urgent care. He felt it and said it felt like a lipoma, took an x-ray and said he was not concerned about it-to mention to the doc on Monday. He did however, do an ekg and sent me for a stress test which was normal.

I went on Monday and my doc said it felt like a lipoma but since I have been so stressed it would make perfect sense to have it biopsied so I have an appt with the surgeon on Thursday. After reading more symtoms on the web I seem to have itching in both elbows and the front/side of my knees.

I want this to be resolved. i have told my doc that my main concern is this may be something serious and i want to catch if it is. She said I am fine. I have an appt for my regular checkup in June. Has anyone had these issues and do I just wait until june or try something else? The stress is a real issue and I think I may be focusing on one thing after the other is "cleared up".

I could mention that I (last Jan) went on a diet after putting on apx 35 pounds in the previous 6 months and lost almost all of it by June last yr. Since then my weight has been the same and may have creeped up slightly. I wonder if this has anything to do with the groin and side issues?

thanks in advance.
