... Its difficult to describe but here goes: A small hard lump is like feeling a dried pea under the skin. A matted lump is like feeling a piece of cotten or tissue under the skin. Its there, you feel it, it is firm, but not hard. If you were to try to disect it out, you would find other tissue connected to it that might or might not be diseased. My doctor said she does not believe it is a swollen gland, but that it appears to be a cyst. I have no other symptoms except for vague aches and pains around my chest, breast, underarm... (2 replies)
