This question is just going to seem strange and people are probably going to think I'm just plain nuts.
I am just getting through depression/anxiety/social phobia I had received help from one on one therapy and group therapy, but I seem to have a facisination with mental heath?? I mean that is just crazy! I can't understand it myself. I have sat and tried to think why, is it just that people care for you? that you don't have to make decisions for yourself, people can take control of you? that people are concerned about you, e.g. doctors and family! I really don't know, does feeling this way come under some kind of illness!! Can anyone help me, I mean why would I have this fascination?? :(

-Distant[/QUOTE]It's not strange towat to be involved in something that's helped you, in the UK we have patieent and carer participation within the mental health services throughout the country. This involvces being part of committees that hire adn fire staff, mental health meanagement committees, in forming adn teaching Nurseing degrees, and also the new BA social Work degree.
This can be very theraputic, itcan build confidence andself esteem self worth.
I hopeyou finda niche in your local mental heath support services, whether voluntary or statuatory.
