Impending Insanity

... If I may interject FossilApostle... User 1337 has been surrounded by his family, and choices made by other's his entire childhood, and adolescence. He has had no say in his surroundings, and that is why the chance to go off to college is so important. Am I right? (12 replies)

... Thanks, writeleft. I always enjoy hearing what you have to say. The answer that you want to hear is this. I don't want others to think that I am associated with such morons as it s a disgrace to who I am because I am self-conscious about what others think of my intelligence and understanding. True? Maybe. (12 replies)

... But if you're surrounded by morons, what does that make you? The smartest guy in the room I guess. That's what I meant by "comfort". Are you saying everyone around you is like that? And if not, ask yourself why are you solely focusing on them? There must be a reason. And if these people arouse such strong feelings in you, maybe it's important for you to know why. (12 replies)

... User 1337, Thank you for the kind words...I couldn't be happier about you going to college. Your world is on the verge of becoming much larger, and will offer you the right forum for your great intellectual possibilities. What you have been through has been nothing short of tragic. From my perspective, you are a caring and loving son, and brother. You mother stopping... (12 replies)

... It's definitely nice to hear from you again, as you encouraged me to do so much that short while back. However, things never changed. I got my Mom to stop drinking, but that wasn't the problem apparently. I'm coping, I think, though, and I'm going to college next month anyway. I was thirteen and my Mother, the cause of my problems, was sitting next to me. I care about... (12 replies)

... You don't have to be mentally ill to benefit from therapy. I don't think you're mentally ill - or at least nothing you've posted has indicated that to me - but I absolutely think that you would benefit from therapy. But for it to be helpful, you have to be honest and open with your therapist. If you had a stomach ailment you wouldn't go to your doctor and not mention it,... (12 replies)

... Hello my friend... Wow, ! am thrilled to "see" you again. I would not think of giving you the standard faire...as you have proven to me to be brilliant artist with your words. Upon seeing your thread, I am anxious to exchange. And you? (12 replies)

... I guess I didn't express myself clearly enough, as this isn't really the case. I tend to over analyze and I am pretty self-righteous, however maybe I wasn't clear on some of the more serious sides of this. Or, maybe, I'm not giving off any characteristics of a mentally ill person. I had a pretty rough upbringing, which you can read about in this thread... (12 replies)

... You have a huge ego - that's all I can see. Then again, it takes on to know one. I have a disturbingly high positive view of myself as well; I think I'm better than everyone and I'm smarter than everyone. Thing is, mine could be related to thoughts of grandeur due to my schizoaffective disorder. (12 replies)

... Honestly, I don't see anything that unusual in your post. You seem extremely self-absorbed, self-righteous, and self-involved though, even for a teenager. Your tendency to overanalyze every aspect of your life and behavior is something I'd try to avoid. I don't think that you are mentally ill, but you might benefit from some therapy that could teach you to stop living... (12 replies)

... Yes, as I expected. Yeah, I'll undoubtedly need to get some therapy. I don't see what could be taken as a joke here :P (12 replies)

... WOW. At first I thought your post was a joke which would NOT be funny because many of us on this board use this forum for true help through peer support. I am no doctor but you certainly seem to have problems. I think you should see a psychologist ASAP. Please do not be offended by what I am saying. I am only calling it as I see it. Your mind is racing and you sound like you... (12 replies)

... Please don't brush this off, I'm being serious here. My family has had a long history of mental disorders dating back to my Great-Great Grandmother who would chase my Great-Great Grandfather around with a knife. My Great Grandmother has had her share of depression as have my Grandma and Mother. My Grandma and Mother have both attempted suicide multiple times and are very... (12 replies)
