Miscarriage & Still Birth Message Board

Miscarriage & Still Birth Board Index

Beanie, my drs have never had me come in with my early miscarriages that began on their own. They just told me that if I soaked more than a pad per hour, had heavy cramping where I couldn't stand up straight, developed a fever or had a foul smelling discharge that I needed to go to ER immediately. I have had four miscarriages like this and two missed miscarriages in the second trimester that I had to be induced for.

My OB wanted me to notify him also if I did not have a period within 7 weeks. He never did any follow up either...only if I had problems.

Did your OB ask you to come in? I'm just curious since my OB seems so hands off when it comes to miscarriages. I've often wondered how other drs handled them.

pradasweets, the tests that they will typically perform are an ultrasound and HCG testing (to make sure the levels are dropping). The ultrasound is to verify that the uterus is empty.

Love and Prayers, Kelly
