Miscarriage & Still Birth Message Board

Miscarriage & Still Birth Board Index

I have never heard of these tests, but I think that is a great idea. I lost my son 8/20/2000 at 22 weeks and I was able to hold him and name him, I even had him baptised. All these things keep his memory alive so much greater than if I hadn't seen him. I also have pictures holding him and his receiving blanket and his hat. We had a funeral service, but I didn't want to bury him. I had him cremated and a portion of his ashes are inside a cross that I wear religiously to keep him close to my heart. I think it's important you give your baby the same respect that you would a living child. Everyone deserves a name to be remembered by . . . I was lucky to be able hold him and look at him, and as heart wrenching as that was, I'm glad that I had that opportunity to kiss him and love him, even if only briefly. I had him for a couple hours (he had already passed) and I will NEVER forget those moments. I'm so grateful that my ex's mother brought a camera, otherwise, I wouldn't even have pictures of him. So I say go for it . . . You won't regret it. Good Luck with your future pregnancies!!
