Miscarriage & Still Birth Board Index

Well, I have some good news and some bad news (by the way--thanks for the post, Amy--your replies have really been making me feel better over the last couple days--they've been so tough). The good news is that I woke up this morning (at about 6), and the bleeding had almost completely stopped. There were also no cramps. And I felt nauseus, so I was feeling GREAT. But then I went back to bed and woke up about 10, and the bleeding had begun again, however I didn't really have cramps, and the blood was brown so I really thought it was coming to an end. Throughout the day, the bleeding has increased and the cramps came back (although they are still relatively mild). So I went to see a doctor (not my doctor though--I had to go to a walk-in medicentre, unfortunately) because I couldn't take the not knowing any longer. He didn't check out my cervix or anything which I was hoping he would so he could tell me if I was dilated or anything, but he did tell me to go get 3 blood tests--one tomorrow, then the next 3 days later and the last 3 days after that to see if my pregnancy hormone level (can't remember the name of it at the moment) is going up or down. He also told me to go get an ultrasound to see if maybe the bleeding is from a low-lying placenta (which I did have with my son--although it wouldn't be good, but I think a miscarriage is the worse-case scenario right now).
Basically where I live, you normally have to wait like 4 weeks for an ultrasound and the blood tests also take a few days, so I think if this is a miscarriage I will know before he even gets the results.
So I just thought I'd let you know what was going on--I'll update when I get more information.
