Re: Three mnths

We had a son, Eric, born at twenty weeks with a beating heart. He died an hour later. He was not considered a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Instead, he was a child who died shortly after birth. A stillbirth is just what it says.... "still" -- no life. Our son had vital signs... therefore, he also had a birth certificate and a death certificate. He was baptized, we named him, he died, and then we had a funeral service. There's so much confusion about the words used to describe your loss -- miscarriage, stillbirth, etc. -- but that's how it went for us here in Michigan. Though we've lost nine babies in total, thankfully we have one surviving son, who's a wonderful person. He was born prematurely but you'd never know it now. He is currently in college studying to become a doctor.... there are some very good stories with the babies who make it. So, in answer to your question, yes, you can lose a pregnancy at any time. But you should note that it isn't common to arbitrarily lose babies the way some women do... like I did. I have lupus, which generally doesn't affect the reproductive system the way it did mine (at least that's what they told me over the years); I was just unlucky. Don't get discouraged. There are so many kids in the world... proof that it can happen!
