... We just found out that we've had a miscarriage, and it turns out that the baby has been gone for a couple of weeks. We scheduled my wife for a D 'n' C in a couple of days, but she's curious to know what happens if your decide to just 'labour it out'. ... (18 replies)
... C. Inducing the labour ended up with her passing out the baby at about 1 in the morning, and everything went pretty well. ... (18 replies)
... I opted to wait it out for my miscarriage. I was 10 weeks but had a blighted ovum with growth stopping at 5-6 weeks. He had given me the option of a d&c right away or gave me a weekend to miscarry naturally if not I would need the d&c. The ob said it would be like a heavy period . It definitely was not like a heavy period -it was like 10 periods (what do men know about this... (5 replies)

... I've had four miscarriages. Three I delivered at home (they were first trimester losses). The third one was I was 17 weeks. They wanted to do a D&E (16 weeks seems quite far along to do a D&C; a D&E requires different medical equipment and is a slightly different procedure). I refused since I wanted to see and hold my baby. I waited two weeks to go into labor on my own and... (18 replies)
... aw him today when he cleaned out the rest of the tissue.. There is no need for anyone to have gone through this and i definitely feel like it was as painful as a labour would be. ... (5 replies)
... I've had 2 miscarriages. The first one I let happen naturally after I found out we'd lost the fetus at 9 weeks. The 2nd at 10 weeks, I had a D&C. I would definitely recommend the D&C. For some people, including me, the natural way was VERY physically painful and took about 48 hours to be completed. It was the worst thing I've ever been through. I had dealt with the emotional... ... KKMB firstly i am so very sorry for your loss. please do consider having a d+c or a medical management as the waiting for something so upsetting just hurts you even waiting you could increse the chances of an infection too.i had a medical management (a table which induces labour feelings expelling the feotus from the womb), although i have friends who opted for the... ... I guess you could call it a Missed Miscarriage for me also. I went in with my first pregnancy at 12 weeks for my reg checkup and to finally hear the heartbeat, they couldn't find one with the doppler handheld device. They took me to Ultrasound and there was no blood going through the baby at all. No sign of heartbeat. They measured the baby and it only was as big as a 9 week... (18 replies)
... I am very sorry for you and your wife. My husband and I had to make the same difficult decision just last week. We also opted for the D&C because I could not handle the emotional waiting for the labor. We were 11 weeks. The doctor had told me I could try it on my own, but that it would be difficult due to the size of the baby. My mother in law is a midwife, and she also... (18 replies)
... I went through induced labor in January. I was 15 weeks 2 days at the time. They gave me cytotec and I strongly recommend not to use it if it's offered. It's not meant to bring on labor, though it's used to do so. There's an FDA black box warning with it. That being said, I'm glad that I did go through labor. I was in the antepartum section of the maternity floor at... (18 replies)
... Hi girls, Just wanted to update you on my experience and get some advice. ... Hi everyone. I lost my baby at 12 weeks one week ago today and it's been awful, I'm still not back to work. THe pain and bleeding have been awful & I'm going in for a D&C tomorrow. ... I am sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I went through a miscarriage March 26, I was in my 10th week by the time it started - I had a blighted ovum. By the time the miscarriage was in full swing it was about 8:00pm on a Saturday - I woke my dh up at 2:30am due to the pain - he sat with me and rubbed my back - i told him not to as it made it worse. I was in severe... (20 replies)

... it can take a while for your body to realize that the fetus is not viable. During that time your sac can still get a little larger. Once your body realizes that the hcg levels are dropping and it isn't a viable pregnancy it will start the miscarriage process - with some women the body is slow to realize it and you will have to have a d&c. Some signs that I had the week... (9 replies)
