No worries,

Based on my personal experiences, my waist tightness has never been MS related. I have had nerve pain in my lower back down through my left leg which was MS related, but never a hug. My MS hug has been from my diaphragm and mid-thoracic region. It has never moved into my abdominal region.

Now, from the textbook, as with most MS symptoms, the sensation is different for each person. Pain may be felt under your rib cage, or show up anywhere between your neck and waistline. The feeling can be dull and achy, sharp, or burning. It can last a few seconds to a few hours, and in rare cases, a few days. Some people describe a slight tingling or tickling vibration, while others describe a crippling pressure below the rib cage that may make breathing uncomfortable.

As you can see, some MSers have had the feeling as low as their waistline. Two other "MS HUG" causes can also occur in people with other rib and spinal cord conditions. The latter could be your issue, but this would be my non-medical opinion. When the MS Hug first presents, lungs and gall bladder are often given a check to make sure these are healthy. None of the aforementioned would appear to be related to heat intolerance.
