Re: Not Sure
Jan 14, 2016
HI there. It sounds like you are doing the right thing, with your upcoming appointment already in place. Good luck to you!

MS mimics 400 other diseases. This means that you only have a 1:400 chance of this actually being MS. Each case of MS presents slightly differently however, so you cant say its not possible. Your symptoms are a bit all over the place. Many of them can be explained by your deficiencies, but some of them do sound neurological. Youre doing the right thing, seeing the right doctor to figure this out. Be prepared for some testing. Starting with a MRI, which will look for the damage or scars on your brain and spine, and probably some nerve conduction tests as well.

Unfortunately, it can take a long time to get a dx or if your symptoms and your scans (MRIs) show scars, it can happen quickly. (It took my doctors less than 24 hours to give me a dx, but I am in a small percentage). There is criteria which doctors have to follow to give a diagnosis, it is called the Revised McDonald Criteria if you want to read up on it. Basically, without meeting this criteria, they cant dx you with MS.

Please let us know how you make out at the doctors!
