I do not have MS. However, there is a condition that TRULY mimics MS called antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. It's a simple bloodtest. I too, had the slurring of words. It is very difficult to see someone struggle for words, and even more frustrating for the person who has it. It can present with lesions on the brain, cognitive and memory difficulties, muscle weakness and so much more. The good thing is that it's easily treated. Please ask your daughter's dr. to rule this out before a dx of MS is made. By the way, another MRI is needed at least 3 months after the first one to see if new lesions developed or if they appear to move across the brain (similiar to clouds in the sky). If they have moved, it is likely MS. That is how neurologists differentiate it from APLS. Hope this helps.
