Re: Hip pain

Ive had bad hip pain (mostly the right hip, but will effect both) I was DX'd with Fibro, also I have oesteoarthritis, and bursitis.

My dizziness and off balance feeling sent me to the Neuro.....he is doing an EMG/Mri of my brain to rule out MS.

Im very confused at this point.......many of my symptoms seem just like ms, but my pain seems more like Fibro.

I always thought MS was more Neuorlogical, and Pain was more Fibro. But I'm learning so much on this board...........MS can cause pain.

Hope

I have terrible hip pain. Xrays show nothing. Not yet diagnosed with MS though plenty of symptoms. Is there a link between hip pain and MS? I just though all my sporting injuries were catching up with me!

Hi all-

I have not been on the board in a while. I have been dealing with MS like symptoms for about a year (no let up). After my last clean MRI, I turned my attention to Lyme and have an appt with a specialist this week. I mention it because you would be very surprised how similar MS and Lyme symptoms are! If you have joint pain, I would defintiely make sure lyme is ruled out- by a specialist! 40% of negative lyme blood tests are done on people who eventually test positive! The diease is extremely mis-understood by the medical community.

Take a look at the symptoms on Dr. Joseph Burrascano's 2005 Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines For Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses. He is one of the top Lyme doctors in the country, and many Lyme doctors follow his protocols. You can use this checklist to see if it makes sense for you to look into Lyme.

Best wishes!:)

Gday Zadie - fellow Aussie - thanks for the tip re - reflux. I never knew it was also an MS symptom until reading this forum. My GP has not suggested a link, although I recognise that they too are mere mortals and often get things wrong or fail to make connections with symptoms. My medications gave me terrible side effects (even started lactating again) YUK. Who knows - I probably won't have MS - I might just be breaking down due to tiredness, stress, old age, etc, etc, LOL!
