I know that all the medical documents say peak age for diagnosis of MS is age 20 - 40 or 20 - 50 depending on which ones you read. Has anyone here been diagnosed at age 50 or after? I am 50yo F and started having symptoms last year. Brain MRI came back normal. However, ortho doctor still suspected MS because of my continuing symptoms: fatigue, severe leg weakness to the point of having trouble getting up stairs, shocking sensations in legs and back, numbness/tingling in legs and arms. He ordered cervical/thoracic MRI which showed demyelinating disease in the cervical MRI. He is sending me to neuro. for diagnosis/further testing.
Anyone else 50 or older when diagnosed . . . . . . .
