Re: Mini-ON?
Jul 14, 2008
Today I had a terrible headache that just wouldn't go away. Then I stopped at an ATM on the way home from town and couldn't really see the screen. I guessed when punching buttons and actually got it! But. Driving home was not good and by the time I got in my front door, my peripheral vision was all white and sparkly like it gets. To me, it felt like ON, it was that awful familiarity... But it was gone in half an hour so I didn't go to the hospital for steroids. A couple of months ago, my central vision was totally occluded while I was cooking supper. But that went away within 5 or 10 minutes.

Is this unusual? Does anyone else get these "mini-attacks?"
You mention the sparkly, and it reminded me so much of when I had migraine with aura. Only I never had the migraine headache along with the aura. The aura came on for 20-30 minutes at a time, blurred my vision (to the point, as you say, you could not read the ATM) and I had a sparkly sensation of twinkling lights.

My case was migraine. I have not had ON myself. I'd definitely contact your neuro if this keeps up, or at very least make a record of it happening to mention to your neuro on your next visit.
