Does anyone have anything to say regarding the use of botox injections for muscle spasms? Just wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences with them.
Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have MS and have tried Zanaflex, Baclofen, and even Clonazepam. All they seem to do is make me more tired than I am already. It was my neurologist who suggested the possibility of Botox. He also talked about the use of an implanted Baclofen pump which I don't really like the sound of. He did say that the Botox injections only last a few months which is certainly a down side. So, I wondered if anyone had any success with the injections before I ask my Dr. to try and get them approved by Medicare...
My stepfather has Parkinsons and is having botox injections for muscle spasms. It was very difficult to get the insuarnce company to approve it however they eventually they came through.

They are actually working to control his muscle spasms....I dont know if its because of a different part of the brain and a different reason then we MSers get muscle spasms, but for Parkinsons it has been proven to work.

I would investigate it further.
Nikki
