Re: Probable MS?
May 6, 2011
Hi lcalex2,

I know you have had a MRI of the Brain but have you also had a MRI of the Cervical Spinal Cord. MS lesions can show up anywhere along the Central Nervous System (CNS) which includes the brain, optic nerves and spinal cord.

If you have not seen an Opthamologist about your vision you may want to do that. Neurologists are not the Drs. you should see about vision problems. The eyes are the specialty of Opthamologists.

An Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist could check you ears and see if there is a problem that could be causing your Vertigo.

Vertigo has many causes, one being MS. The other causes:

-- Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
-- Inflammation in the inner ear
-- Meniere's disease
-- Migraines
-- Drop in blood pressure (orthostatic hypotension)

There are others. Some of these, such as migraines, can cause brain lesions and tingling sensations. Low B-12 can cause symptoms similar to MS, hopefully someone is treating your low D and B-12.

Your brain MRI said "indicative of a demyelinating disorder." Unfortunately, MS is not the only demyelinating disease.
